Let Bedrock players join a Java server
Why Bedrock players use a different address and port, and where a tunnel fits in.
Minecraft comes in two editions, Java and Bedrock, and they don't normally talk to each other. The Network tab has a Bedrock players card that bridges the gap.
How it works
Java servers and Bedrock servers are separate programs, and Mineshire can run both. To get both groups into one world, you use a Java server with two plugins added. Geyser translates between the editions, and Floodgate lets Bedrock players join without a Java account.
The address is different
Bedrock players don't use the Java address at the top of the Network tab. They connect to Geyser's own port, which uses UDP, while the Java side uses TCP.
On the same Wi-Fi, they use your computer's address plus that port. In Minecraft they go to Play, Servers, Add Server, and enter the address and the port in two separate boxes. The server has to be running.
Friends outside your Wi-Fi
Bedrock players need a tunnel, same as Java players. Mineshire can make one for Geyser, and its address and port appear in the card once it's ready.
The port numbers can look odd. Geyser's own port can stay as it is, and the tunnel's public port is a different number. That's normal. Give your friends the tunnel's address and the tunnel's port.
Why Mineshire changes two Geyser settings
When it makes a tunnel for Geyser, Mineshire switches off force-resource-packs and enable-integrated-pack, once. Geyser's resource pack download never gets going through a tunnel, which would leave players stuck on a loading screen.
You can switch them back on in plugins/Geyser-Spigot/config.yml. After that first time, Mineshire leaves them alone.
When it doesn't work
The card tells you if its check fails. If the server logs an error while starting Geyser, the card suggests removing both plugins in the Plugins tab and starting again.
Watch for a port clash too. If you also run a Bedrock server in Mineshire that wants the same port, only one of them can use it at a time, so change the port on one.
